Adventure Offroad Campers have a proud tradition and was established in 1994 by Frank Tabone.
Frank and his son Paul built Adventure Offroad Campers into a leading business with a reputation that has withstood the test of time.
Why has the Adventure Camper been so popular? Because it was designed by someone with a love and passion for camping who understood from hands on experience what was needed to make a great camper.
Adventure Offroad Campers remains a family business, although no longer owned by Frank and Paul. The mantle has been handed over the husband and wife team, Corrine and Matt Ormsby.
Matt has extensive knowledge of what it takes to withstand the rigours of the Australian Outback having worked for a number of years across remote locations in Australia while honing his expertise as an experienced Fabricator and Boilermaker.
How it began
The opportunity to purchase an iconic Australian business, happened in the typical haphazard conversations that seem to happen when on an adventure.
Corrine’s parents, Elaine and Wayne, had an Adventure Camper and loved it. After one particular trip up to Cape York they needed a few spare parts.
Wayne popped in to Adventure Campers only to find that they were no longer there, so, he popped in to see Paul at Choice Caravans only to find out that Adventure Offroad Campers had sadly closed it’s doors so that Frank could sit back and enjoy his camper in retirement.
Wayne said to Matt – “it would be a great business”.
Matt had a chat with Paul and Frank and what happened next, as they say, is history……
